Finally Apprehended
Only until 50 years after Marie Noe had killed her first child was the case reopened. Interests in the SIDS case came about after a book called "The Death Of Innocents" came out. A writer proceeded to write about the book in in Philadelphia magazine. The writer of the article gave some information to the Philadelphia Police Department in March 1998. The Philadelphia PD took this information into account and decided to ask Marie some questions. Since in the mid 1900's Forensic Labs weren't as big as they are now, the doctors always concluded that the babies just had died from SIDS. They could not offer any medical explanation for the deaths. In 1969, SIDS was formally defined and the court handling the case agreed that must be the reason. The Police kept the investigation alive and later looked into it because of the article sent in. Police Officers questioned Marie, and she admitted to suffocating 4 of the 8 children that had died under mysterious circumstances. For the other 4, she claimed that she could not remember what happened.
